China Southern Power Grid Power line survey



Based on the digital photos of UAV and photogrammetry technology, the UAV power line inspection system is designed to highly automatically identify and locate the potential risk factors that threaten the safety of transmission lines, such as illegal buildings and tall plants in the channel of high-voltage transmission lines.

Invited by Guizhou Electric Power Bureau of China Southern Power Grid, the experiment of power line inspection was carried out in Guiyang. On April 13, 2016, the aviation team conducted aerial photography of a 4.5km 220kV line in Guiyang. After several days of processing, the test results exchange meeting was held on April 19, 2016. The meeting agreed that the test results have good application value for tree barrier inspection, but the accuracy of the results needs field inspection. On April 23, 2016, according to the coordinates of obstacles listed in the report, inspection personnel carried out field survey, measured and recorded the distance between obstacles and power.

After field survey, the results agree with the report.

Application summary: Compared with manual inspection, this system can greatly improve the efficiency of line inspection, especially in difficult areas reached by manual inspection. More common unmanned aerial vehicle inspection system, providing quantitative ranging software system, can quantitatively locate obstacles. Compared with LiDAR inspection mode, it can greatly reduce equipment cost, greatly improve operation efficiency, and enable the inspection team to be equipped.
